CAMPO partners with area transit providers, state transit officials, health and human service agencies and others to develop coordinated plans for the region’s family of public transportation services.

Federal Transit Administration Region VI
The Federal Transit Administration oversees the Federal funding and planning requirements for public transportation systems throughout the United States. Region IV of the FTA provides direct support to the State of Texas including the CAMPO region. Regional VI offices

TxDOT Public Transportation Division
The TxDOT Public Transportation Division provides assistance to the state’s public transit providers and serves as the direct recipient for Federal transit funding that flows to the rural parts of the CAMPO region. The City of Austin
The City of Austin, with its Project Connect regional high-capacity planning partners is conducting a corridor study to connect downtown Austin, the state Capitol Complex, the University of Texas at Austin campus, and the Mueller Redevelopment to each other and to the emerging regional transit system with a fixed-guideway rail mode, Urban Rail. Lone Star Rail District
The Lone Star Rail District was established in 2003 to develop passenger rail connecting Austin and San Antonio. CAMPO has provided Federal funding to support continued planning of this service Lone Star Rail District is in the late stages of preparing LSTAR, its planned passenger rail service in Central Texas. City of Round Rock
The City of Round Rock provides on-demand public transportation services to its residents through a contract with CARTS, and has received Federal funding through CAMPO to support development of reverse commuter service connecting Round Rock to the Tech Ridge Park and Ride. City of Round Rock
Health and Human Services Transportation
Many area health and human service agencies provide specialized transportation to their clients using funding that comes through the Department of Transportation or the US Department of Health and Human Services. CAMPO partners with these entities through the Regional Transit Coordination Committee.
