The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and the City of San Marcos are partnering on the San Marcos Platinum Planning Study to identify and plan for future needs and recommend improvements along three key roadways in the area.
The San Marcos Platinum Planning Study will evaluate Guadalupe Street (SH 123), Hopkins Street (SH 80), and a potential north/south thoroughfare east of IH-35 and propose ideas for future development and transportation improvements. These concepts will focus development and redevelopment at important centers such as the Downtown and Midtown neighborhoods, the Medical Center, and/or the City Government complex.
Public involvement will play a key role in shaping the study. San Marcos Platinum Planning Study efforts will take place over the next 10 months and incorporate a broad range of perspectives and input.
To comply with social distancing guidelines, public participation and commenting will take place remotely. Remote open houses are anticipated in June. Information on how to participate and provide input will be available next month.
